Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger Suffers Injury: NFL News at YouWager

Just last night, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had to walk away from the 16-13 overtime victory against the Kansas City Chiefs with a right shoulder injury.

According to what YouWager experts learned, Roethlisberger was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital to undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury to his throwing shoulder, with a diagnosis expected during this afternoon.

The 30 year-old was sacked by Justin Houston to end the Steelers first possession of the second half. Roethlisberger was taken to the locker room after walking off the field, and backup Byron Leftwich began to warm up. The star quarterback finished 9-of-18 for 84 yards and a touchdown for Pittsburgh, who won their fourth straight game to improve to 6-3.

Coach Mike Tomlin did not comment on the severity of Roethlisberger’s injury, and his status for Sunday’s showdown with AFC North leader Baltimore Ravens is yet to bee seen.

The native of Ohio has been largely injury-free this season in offensive coordinator Todd Haley’s system, which requires him to get rid of the ball quickly. However, as the NFL live lines point out, Kansas City Chiefs’ secondary shut down the Steelers’ receivers, and Roethlisberger took a series of hits on a wet night at Heinz Field.
