New Orleans Saints vs. Atlanta Falcons
Tip-off: Thursday, November 29, 2012 – 8:20 PM ET
Georgia Dome, Atlanta, GA
YouWager experts believe that the Atlanta Falcons are pretty motivated for their rematch with the New Orleans Saints. Even so, the Falcons have been pretty successful at giving the desperate New Orleans NFL team more reason to get amped up for this game.
Atlanta will try to avenge its lone loss by trying to avoid a fifth consecutive defeat to New Orleans this evening at the Georgia Dome.
The Falcons (10-1) were rolling along at 8-0 when the Saints put an end to that run with a 31-27 home win Nov. 11. Atlanta was held to 46 rushing yards, settled for two field goals inside the red zone and turned the ball over on downs late in the game from inside New Orleans’ 5-yard line.
Even when the Falcons recovered from that loss with two close wins to maintain the NFC’s best record, some of the team members consider they were the better team at the Superdome.
The Saints (5-6) are still on the outside looking in at the NFC playoff picture after its three-game winning streak ended with a 31-21 home defeat to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
QB Brees threw three touchdowns but his two interceptions against the 49ers were each returned for TDs. The 33 year-old’s completed 67.4 percent of his passes and thrown 13 touchdowns versus five picks while going 5-1 at Atlanta as a member of the New Orleans NFL team.
The Texas native threw for 298 yards and three scores against Atlanta earlier in November, but it might be New Orleans defense that could help determine the outcome. The Saints are still siting last in the NFL allowing 454.8 total yards, but the defense yielded a season-low 375 and two TDs versus the 49ers.
Even when winning their last two games by a combined five points, Atlanta still ranks eighth in scoring (26.7 points per game) and sixth in total offense (385.9 yards per game).
