YouWager has learned that a grand jury in Texas formally indicted Dallas Cowboys Josh Brent on one count of intoxication manslaughter.
The 24 year-old NFL player is charged in connection with a Dec. 8 crash that killed his friend and teammate Jerry Brown. Brent has paid a $100,000 bond.
Dallas County District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Debbie Denmon stated that the indictment was returned Wednesday.
According to police in the Dallas suburb of Irving Brent was speeding when his vehicle struck a curb and flipped. Soon thereafter Brown was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
Intoxication manslaughter carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison however the Cowboys nose tackle could be eligible for probation.
