How bad it is to be a New York Jet quarterback? Pretty bad. Just one week after he benched Mark Sanchez, in favor of Greg McElroy, skipping Tim Tebow, Rex Ryan, head coach of the New York Jets, is going back to his original starting quarterback. Ryan told a YouWager news source that McElroy is still out from a concussion injury.
“Let’s review what we have learned,” joked an NFL expert at YouWager. “You have the starting quarterback out with a head injury, Tebow, who probably wants to be elsewhere, and you are back to the quarterback that has been a disappointment. And he knows he wasn’t the coach’s first choice.”
In spite of the fact that Tim Tebow is on the roster, Ryan is going with Sanchez. “Obviously Tim’s not happy with that,” Ryan told YouWager’s source.
The online betting community has seen headlines lately that the most famous Christian in the NFL would not go along with the Jets Wildcat packages. Now, headlines report that Tebow says it isn’t true.
New York’s situation is so bad, the Jets are presently posted as 3.5 point underdogs at YouWager. Against the Buffalo Bills. To make the game more entertaining for sportsbook bettors, Ryan says Tebow may see some action. “That doesn’t mean that Tim won’t play in this game, I just feel more comfortable with Mark,” Ryan explained.
YouWager’s serious NFL football bettors were not surprised to learn about McElroy’s concussion, a result from New York’s game against the San Diego Chargers. The Jets quarterback was sacked 11 times.
YouWager’s football forecaster reminds us that this is the third quarterback change Rex Ryan has made in the 2012 NFL football wagering season without starting Tebow. There’s still too much money tied up in Sanchez, YouWager’s pigskin predictor says. Sanchez may not be traded or get released from his contract, but many insiders think Tebow may soon be gone.
Some football bettors may be wondering, “What do the Jets have to lose, at this point?”
Certainly not their pride. New York heads into Sunday’s game with a dismal a 6-9 record. They are 3-4 on the road in 2012. The Buffalo Bills are a horrible 5-10 overall, and they are 3-4 at home. But the oddsmakers at YouWager currently have the Bills as 3.5 point favorites.
The Bills have lost 3 games in a row after dropping their 24-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins last Sunday. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick 20-of-35 passes, for 240 yards, one touchdown and one interception. That loss brought Buffalo’s record to 5-10 overall and 6-9 against the spread. The Bills have failed to cover the spread in three straight games. The Bills haven’t covered in four of their last five games.
The Jets were just shot down by the Chargers 27-17. McElroy stumbled in his NFL start. He only completed 14-of-24 throws for 185 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception. Shonn Greene rushed for just 38 yards on 14 carries, and scored two touchdowns. The defeat knocked the Jets down to 6-9 overall and 7-8 against the spread, as they failed to cover the spread. They haven’t covered in their last two games and four of their last five.
At YouWager, the Over/Under is 39. Game time on Sunday is 1PM.
