Andy Reid’s Deal with the Chiefs Almost Final: NFL News at YouWager

YouWager experts have learned that Andy Reid is that much closer to finalizing his deal as the new head coach for the Kansas City Chiefs. This is backed up by the news that Reid will not be attending further meetings with the Arizona Cardinals.

Kansas City had no response but according to different NFL sources the team is hopeful of announcing a deal with Reid as early as today. There have been no more interviews scheduled with coaching candidates since they were encouraged by their negotiations with Reid the past two days.

Kansas City will hold a meeting with their coaches today, most likely to talk about the club’s coaching search and ongoing talks with Reid.

The 54 year-old coach also has canceled an interview with the San Diego Chargers. This team is indeed interviewing other candidates.

As the both Reid and the Chiefs continue to discuss details of organizational structure, salary and coaching budgets, NFL sources have stated that the nine hours of meetings Wednesday were necessary for Reid to meet with various key members of the organization.

While the California native had a warm relationship with GM Scott Pioli, sources leanred it was highly unlikely that Reid was going to build his front office with Pioli on board if the deal gets done with Hunt.

Moreover, Reid did not demand that former Cleveland Browns GM Tom Heckert had to be a package deal as the team’s future general manager because he still wants to be able to tell whether John Dorsey, the Green Bay Packers’ director of operations, would consider the position of GM.
