“It’s retarded.”

-Joe Flacco, quarterback, Baltimore Ravens, on next year’s Super Bowl

As the sports betting public enjoys the milder temperatures in the Big Easy, way down South, some players are already letting the world know just how they feel about playing outdoors next year, in New Jersey, in a stadium without a roof. Leading the way is the quarterback of the Baltimore Ravens, Joe Flacco.

As YouWager’s NFL football betting fans have surely heard, for the first time ever, in the history of the Super Bowl, at the end of the 2014 NFL football wagering season, the game will be played in a Northern city, outdoors.

The PR people must be shaking their heads. At press conferences in New Orleans, San Francisco’s Randy Moss tells reporters that he’s the best wide receiver there has ever been. And now, Baltimore’s Joe Flacco tells the press what he really thinks about the outdoor bowl up North, in cold weather.

Flacco said it was ‘retarded.’ Backpeddling, Flacco told YouWager’s news source, “I guess I shouldn’t say that. It’s stupid. If you want a Super Bowl, put a dome on your stadium and then you can get one. Other than that, I don’t really like the idea. I don’t think it would suit us badly. We’d react very well to that if we had to play anybody in that kind of weather. But I just can’t see that being a good idea.”

Flacco knows a thing or two about the weather in that region. Flacco grew up in an Italian-American family in New Jersey, and as a high school star, he played football there. His family is originally from Haddon Township, New Jersey. Flacco played college football for the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Delaware.

Will the NFL have to find a way to forgive Flacco’s for his criticism? Or are the quarterback’s remarks merely the first of many caustic comments to come, from the men who might have to actually endure the cold?

There is distinct possibility that the next Super Bowl could be played while it’s snowing or raining.

Flacco might have to eat his words. He could be in that game. As an NFL analyst at YouWager points out, Flacco was the first rookie quarterback in the history of the NFL to win two playoff games. Flacco also became the first quarterback to bring the Baltimore Ravens  to the playoffs in his first five seasons, winning a game in each. This year, Ron Jaworski, a commentator for ESPN, boldly claimed that Joe Flacco has the strongest arm in the league. Perhaps now, the experts will be rating his mouth as well.

Heading into the contest for the NFL Championship, the Baltimore Ravens are posted as 3.5 point underdogs at YouWager. The total is 47.5. Game time for the Super Bowl on Sunday is 6:30PM Eastern.
