Ravens QB Joe Flacco Named MVP: NFL Talk at YouWager

YouWager experts consider Joe Flacco certainly knew what he was doing when he decided to put off contract talks with the Baltimore Ravens until after the season was done.

Putting an end to a flawless NFL postseason,Flacco completed 22-of-33 passes for 287 yards and three first-half touchdowns last night, earning Super Bowl MVP honors for leading Baltimore to a 34-31 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Now the 28 year-old’s contract is up and he could wind up with one of the biggest deals in the history of the league, possibly making it close to a $20 million a year deal.

Flacco might have had a chance to sign something last offseason, but his agent and the Ravens could not agree on how much he was worth. Fans weren’t sure either.

However, Flacco gave everyone an answer last night.

The New Jersey native’s performance put to rest any doubts about just how good he is and whether he belongs in the conversation about the NFL’s best quarterbacks, becoming only the sixth in 47 Super Bowls to throw for three scores in a first half. Flacco connected with Anquan Boldin for 13 yards, Dennis Pitta for 1, and Jacoby Jones for 56.

Flacco managed to do a great job at being safe during the game’s second half. He had helped the Ravens take a 21-6 halftime lead, and it grew to 28-6 when Jones returned the second-half kickoff a Super Bowl-record 108 yards.

The things go a little weird. The lights went out delaying action for more than a half-hour. And when play resumed, the Niners quickly scored 17 consecutive points to make things interesting for online sports betting experts.

But, Baltimore held on down the stretch with two short field goals by rookie Justin Tucker padding the lead, and the Lewis-led defense stopping the 49ers on a fourth-and-goal at the 5.

Nor Flacco or the rest of the Ravens looked ready to take on all comers as the regular season ended.

After all, Baltimore lost four of their final games to stumble into the NFL playoffs.
