Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to Remain with Celtics: NBA Rumors at YouWager

Just yesterday Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge cleared the rumors about Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce remaining with the team.

The 36 year-old Garnett, fresh off joining the NBA’s elite 25,000-point club, was clear about wanting to retire in Boston after Thursday’s win over the Los Angeles Lakers at TD Garden.

The star player was quick to dismiss the trade rumors rumors while Boston tries to overcome the loss of starters Rajon Rondo and Jared Sullinger.

The former Minnesota Timberwolves player owns a no-trade clause as part of a three-year extension he inked with the Celtics last season. If Garnett wishes to retire a Celtic, he can make sure that happens. However, the South Carolina native left the door cracked ever-so slightly to allow for a change of scenery should the Celtics play around with their roster and leave him no other option but to look for a title elsewhere.

According to Ainge he will be patient moving forward and that he doesn’t expect any wholesale changes to his roster this NBA season.
