NBA Odds and Point Spread at YouWager: Celtics vs. Jazz

Boston Celtics vs.Utah Jazz

Tip-off: Monday, February 25, 2013 – 9:00 PM ET

EnergySolutions Arena, Salt Lake City, UT

Even though the Boston Celtics have struggled as of late they have still impressed their YouWager fans by winning a few games. However, it hasn’t been all wins during their current road trip.

Things are likely to get harder against the Utah Jazz, who held a huge rebounding advantage in the first meeting.

Tonight Utah will try to make it 13 victories in 15 home games when they take on a slumping Celtics team that will try to save the finale of their five-game trip.

While Boston (29-27) ran off a season-best seven straight wins after star point guard Rajon Rondo went down with a torn ACL on Jan. 25, six of those victories came at home. That streak came to an end with a 94-91 defeat versus the Charlotte Bobcats on Feb. 11 and they have dropped four of five away from home following Sunday’s 92-86 loss versus thePortland Trail Blazers.

Coach Doc Rivers’ club will try to end the trip with its fifth straight victory versus Utah, who have only lost twice at home since the start of the present year.

According to the NBA odds and point spread Boston has a winning record despite ranking near the bottom of the league in rebounding margin (minus-3.9), and pulled out a 98-93 win versus the Jazz on Nov. 14 despite getting outrebounded by 15.

The Jazz (31-25) have a plus-2.4 rebounding margin while winning 12 of 14 at home since Jan. 2.

Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap combined for 33 points and 26 rebounds in the first NBA game versus Boston, but had 35 and six, respectively, in a 107-94 road defeat against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.

Utah was outscored 36-20 in the third quarter as their three-game winning streak ended.

Paul Pierce had 23 points, eight assists and seven rebounds after averaging 13.0 points on 33.3 percent shooting in his previous five basketball games. He also led the way with 23 when facing Utah in November for his fourth consecutive 20-point game in this series.

Boston averaged 105.0 points in their first seven games without Rajon Rondo, but have scored 91.7 in the last six.
