Both Anquan Boldin and many of his YouWager fans were surprised to learn the Baltimore Ravens traded him to the San Francisco 49ers.
Boldin had four touchdowns in the red zone for Baltmiore last postseason. During the 49ers’ NFL playoff run, only two players (Michael Crabtree and Vernon Davis) had any red zone targets and were a combined 1-of-5 receiving in those situations in Super Bowl XLVI.
With the Ravens, his coach was John Harbaugh; his coach in with the Niners will be his former coach’s brother, Jim Harbaugh.
According to different sources, Baltimore will receive a sixth-round draft choice in the trade, which is contingent on Boldin passing a physical when he returns from his current trip to Africa.
The 32 year-old player had six catches for 104 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens’ 34-31 Super Bowl victory over the 49ers. Boldin also had five receptions for 60 yards and two scores versus the New England Patriots in the AFC title game.
However, the player was due $6 million in 2013, the final year of his contract. After Boldin and Baltimore wee unable to agree on a restructured deal, the Ravens worked a deal with the 49ers rather than simply cutting him from the roster.
