The Ravens open regular season against the Broncos, in Denver
The new regular season promises some interesting matchups for YouWager’s
NFL football bettors. The Lineup for the Denver Broncos will surely create some excitement during the 2013 NFL football wagering season for both sportsbook bettors and online oddsmakers. As quarterback for the Broncos, Peyton Manning will return to Indianapolis. He’ll also face his younger brother Eli at the start of the season.
Because the schedule will break tradition this year, due to a conflict with the Baltimore Orioles, the season’s first Thursday night game on September 5th will not be a home game for the league defending champions. Instead, the game’s highest paid quarterback, Joe Flacco, will go head-to-head in a contest with another champion, Peyton Manning, and the club the Ravens defeated in overtime before they won the Super Bowl.
To no surprise, not everyone is happy about this.
Denver receiver Eric Decker admitted the game will be a difficult beginning for 2013. He told a YouWager news source, ”It still bites on everybody. It’s tough to kind of relive that game, especially the opportunities I think we left on the field. It’s going to definitely fire us going into this year.”
Before he became the head coach of the New York Jets, Rex Ryan was an assistant coach for the Ravens. He doesn’t like seeing Baltimore start the season with a game on the road. Ryan told YouWager’s source, ”I think that the world champs can open up at home and that’s where I think they should open, at home. I think it is common courtesy. I don’t know what gets involved in that. I am not in charge of it, but if I would have been, the Ravens would be opening at home.”
In week 2, YouWager’s football bettors will have a chance to wager on their favorite Manning when Peyton team’s journeys to Eli’s. This Manning versus Manning matchup has only happened two times before and older brother Peyton came out on top both times. Imagine the statistics. Even with Peyton playing for the Broncos, it will still be one of the most challenging games for the Mannings, according to Eli. He told YouWager’s source, ‘‘We haven’t talked about it a whole lot,” Eli said. ”More kind of joking and jabs at each other, but obviously anytime you play your brother it is special. It is unique and I cherish those moments whether before the game or looking across during the national anthem and seeing my big brother and seeing him at the coin flip; those are great moments that we’ll cherish.”
After being fired from the Eagles, Andy Reid will return to Philadelphia, in his new role as head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. For this one, the online wagering community will probably not see the same kind of hero’s welcome in that Peyton Manning is expected to receive in Indianapolis. After hearing about his game in Week 3 against the Eagles, Reid pretended to be surprised. He told YouWager’s source, ”We’re playing Philly? Nah, it’ll be an exciting atmosphere. It always is at Lincoln Financial Field there. But right now, I’m a Chief, so we’re going to get ourselves ready to play, whenever and wherever we have to play this season.”
Other high-profile games should thrill the sports betting public in 2013. Two will happen outside the U.S. London, England will be the site for two games, the Minnesota Vikings vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Jacksonville Jaguars vs. the San Francisco 49ers.
