Another exciting NFL trade has occurred with the New York Jets trading star cornerback Darrelle Revis to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 13th overall pick in Thursday night’s draft and a conditional selection for 2014.
Tampa Bay announced the deal on Sunday, stating the 27 year-old player agreed to a new six-year contract.
According to YouWager experts this deal is worth $96 million, making Revis the highest-paid defensive back in the history of the league, however sources have stated it does not include guaranteed money.
The conditional pick that will be playing in New York is a fourth-round selection in 2014, but could become a third-rounder if Revis is on the Bucs’ roster on the third day of the 2014 NFL year.
Tampa Bay formally will introduce the Pro Bowl cornerback during a news conference today at noon ET.
The front page of the Bucs’ official team website posted a big picture of the native of Pennsylvania in what appears to be a Tampa Bay jersey with the words: “Treasure Island. Darrelle Revis (CB). It’s a Bucs Life.”
The six-year, $96 million deal would make Revis one of the football league’s two highest-paid defensive players along with Mario Williams
