New York Knicks vs. Boston Celtics
Tip-off: Friday, May 3, 2013 – 7:00 PM ET
TD Garden, Boston, MA
Tonight the Boston Celtics will try to impress their online sports betting fans when give their best shot at becoming the first NBA team to rally from an 0-3 deficit to win a playoff series. The Celtics will try to get their inspiration from the Red Sox and and their comeback against the New York Yankees in the 2004 AL championship series.
Boston needs to win four straight games to stay alive in the NBA playoffs.
Guard Jason Terry invoked former Red Sox first baseman Kevin Millar and said, “If we win this next game, then anything’s possible.”
The Red Sox comeback is an unforgettable event at home and not just because it came versus the hated New York team. After losing the first three games of the series — including a 19-8, Game 3 defeat at Fenway Park — Millar told anyone who would listen, “Don’t let us win today.”
As Millar said it would, Pedro Martinez pitched Game 5 and Curt Schilling won Game 6 and then, “Game 7, anything can happen.” Boston beat the Bronx Bombers and went on to sweep the St. Louis Cardinals to win the World Series.
If the Celtics are able to come out victorious in Game 6 tonight in Boston, the decisive seventh game in New York will take place this Sunday.
According to Kevin Garnett there won’t be any consolation in almost making it.
Boston has won an NBA-record 17 titles, the last in 2008, so the Celtics don’t have nearly the baggage that the Red Sox team had when trying to end an 86-year title drought.
As a matter of fact YouWager experts point out that New York is the team that’s currently struggling against history: the Knicks haven’t won an NBA playoff series since 2000, and their last championship came in 1973.
