New York Knicks vs. Indiana Pacers
Tip-off: Tuesday, May 14, 2013 – 7:00 PM ET
Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, IN
The Indiana Pacers have worked miracles during this season and tonight they aren’t stopping. The Pacers blew an opportunity to take command of the Eastern Conference semifinals in Game 2, and then bounced back for an 11-point victory in Game 3 and now have a chance to take command of this best-of-seven series by winning against the New York Knicks at home tonight in Game 4.
Only two teams in the league — the Pacers and the Memphis Grizzlies — started the week with perfect home playoff records.
The Pacers have won their four games by an average of 16.5 points and the Grizzlies headed into last night’s game with a 13-point win margin at home. New York hasn’t really impressed YouWager fans being 0-3 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse this season.
Indiana also finished the regular season as the league’s best rebounding team and has been even more dominant in the playoffs, something the Knicks have had to learn in a difficult manner.
New York has suffered in both defeats and was outscored 20-10 on second-chance points Saturday night.
If Indiana is able to perform that way again in Game 4, the second-seeded Knicks probably will go back to NYC facing a 3-1 deficit in the best-of-seven series Eastern Conference semifinals.
As of late the Knicks have been low on their offensive efforts and it doesn’t look like their bench is doing better.
According to the live betting line, guard J.R. Smith, the league’s top sixth man, was able to increase his shooting percentage playing just hours after spiking a 102-degree fever Saturday morning.
Smith missed practice Sunday and Monday, but bettors might see him suit up tonight. Forward Kenyon Martin, who has been defending the Pacers’ big men, woke up feeling ill Sunday and has missed the last two practices as well. Both players might not play tonight’s game.
