This evening Michael Vick will start for the Philadelphia Eagles in their NFL preseason opener against the New England Patriots.
According to coach Chip Kelly says it’s Vick’s turn to go first in the quarterback rotation.
Quarterback Nick Foles also will take snaps with the starters, and Kelly also added the 24 year-old will start the second preseason game. Both Vick and Foles are expected to get between 12 and 20 snaps when meeting New England.
Foles stated that, “we’re cool with it,” when questioned about Kelly’s decision.
“We’re ready to go, we’re ready to go after it,” he said, according to another publication.
As YouWager bettors know, the two QBs have been competing for the No. 1 job since Kelly took the job with the Eagles.Coming after Vick and Foles will be rookie Matt Barkley.
The announcement was made by Kelly just yesterday, saying it had nothing to do with evaluations or performance in training camp so far.
Earlier this week Kelly alerted the media not to read too much into which quarterback started tonight.
