Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles, at Philadelphia

Kickoff: Thursday, September 19th at 8:40PM Eastern

Line: Philadelphia -3 Total: 50.5

Andy Reid, former head coach of the Eagles, returns to Philadelphia with his new team, the Kansas City Chiefs, to confront his own history. The Chiefs (2-0) enter the contest as an unbeaten club early in the 2013 regular NFL football wagering season. Kansas City is coming from a narrow victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Philadelphia lost to the San Diego Chargers in front of a home crowd. Still, Philadelphia is posted as a 3 point favorite in this matchup.

So far, Kansas City is 1-1 against the spread for the season. The Chiefs are raising hopes for their football betting fans, yet they did not cover when they managed to beat the Cowboys by one point last week. Coach Reid’s defensive unit is looking formidable, and his offense, with the help of Alex Smith and Jamaal Charles, has managed (barely) to put enough points on the board to win. This offense may not be setting the world on fire, but it’s important to note that they have not had any turnovers yet.

First time NFL head coach Chip Kelly and his infamous high-speed offense has already produced some success, dazzling fans and confusing opponents. However, the fast scoring may be a burden on Philadelphia’s defense, and that could slow things down considerably. The Eagles allowed the Redskins to grab 27 points in Philadelphia’s Week 1 win. In their Week 2 loss to the San Diego Chargers, the Eagles surrendered 33 points. The Eagles were victorious in 3 of the 5 games between these two teams. They have not squared off since 2009, when Philadelphia won to the tune of 34-14 at home

Kansas City’s defense may actually be able to force Philadelphia to slow down, some sportsbook bettors speculate. Perhaps Coach Andy Reid will want find a few ways to surprise the franchise that fired him. At 3 points, the Chiefs are only slight underdogs at
YouWager. The Total is 50.5. Game time on Thursday night is 8:25PM Eastern.
