NFL NEWS AT YOUWAGER: BROWNS FAN POSTS ‘QUARTERBACK WANTED’ AD ON CRAIGSLIST

Immediate Opening: Quarterback Needed ASAP

The fans have spoken. As YouWager’s NFL football wagering enthusiasts might imagine, many fans of the Cleveland Browns are not very happy with Brandon Weeden right now. Replacement quarterback Brian Hoyer performed fairly well for the team, but when Hoyer got injured, and Weeden went back in as QB, he failed to encourage the kind of loyalty the club’s fanbase desperately needs. Against the Detroit Lions, sportsbook bettors saw Weeden commit an error that might have been seen as comical if the Lions had done it. Weeden made a wacky backhanded toss across the field that was easily intercepted by Detroit. The Lions won that contest, 31-17. This Sunday, when the (3-3) Cleveland Browns visit the Green Bay Packers, they will be 10 point underdogs at YouWager.

One Browns fan was so upset, he posted a ‘Quarterback Wanted’ ad on Craigslist. According to a YouWager news source, this is the copy for the advertisement:

“Hello, and thanks for reading.
Have you played pro football? College ball? Highschool? Pee-wee?
Have you played Madden before?
Do you sort of kind of know some of the rules of football? If yes keep reading. If no…well also keep reading! We will take ANYONE. This could turn into a regular gig for the right person.
The Cleveland Browns as you may have noticed are having problems scoring points on offense consistently. We are deciding that we actually want to win this year and that we have a real shot at it too. 3 wins in 6 games!? We were expecting maybe 1/3 of those wins for the whole year, but SOMEHOW we have a shot still. Here’s the thing…our defense is sick nasty, but we’ve got problems under center…well one problem. Brandon Weeden. If you’re sick of seeing desperation heaves to the sidelines, countless sacks after superb coverage, and underhanded lightly tossed interceptions in the 4th quarter then please come apply! If you can throw a ball, come apply! If you can’t, come anyway! We can teach you the basics….throwing the ball to the guy who has the same color shirt as you. Throwing the ball reasonably close to a receiver that’s WIDE OPEN, throwing the ball more than 3 yards on 3rd and 16. Think you got what it takes? Come on down! You’re the next contestant on Cleveland Quarterbacks!
Please no redheads, people named Brett, or any U. Of Florida alum.”

The fallout from Weeden’s infamously goofy move has made it hard for the quarterback to tune out the yelling fans. Weeden told YouWager’s source, “I have very good earmuffs on, went out and got about the best ones I could.”

Online oddsmakers say the Browns could actually manage an upset if their defense pulls out all the stops. Cleveland’s defense is currently rated 7th in the league, allowing opponents only 312.5 yards per game, on average. In the 2013 NFL football wagering season, the Green Bay Packers have been hit with multiple injuries, and it has really hurt them on the field. But Cleveland’s odds would probably be much better with another man behind center. Aaron Rodgers is not known for plays that inspire fans to take out ads for a replacement. Internet wagering experts expect the Green Bay Packers to take Sunday’s game very seriously. A Victory this weekend would put them at 4-2 for the season. At YouWager, the Packers are 10 point favorites in this matchup. The Total is 46. Game time on Sunday is 4:25PM Eastern.
