NFL NEWS AT YOUWAGER: WASHINGTON’S COACHING QUESTIONS WILL BE ADDRESSED SOON

“I love these guys, and we’ve been working extremely hard to put this thing together, and we’ve had a couple of bumps, which we all know with the salary cap, but I’m looking forward to building this football team. But, like I said, it’s a situation where I’ll get a chance to sit down with Dan at the end of the season and we’ll go from there.”

– Mike Shanahan, head coach, Washington Redskins

Mike Shanahan says his job question will be answered as soon as the 2013 NFL football wagering season comes to an end. No doubt, Redskins fans will be happy to have some of their concerns addressed. So far, online sportsbook bettors have seen more questions than answers to the club’s dilemmas, Will Mike Shanahan quit? Will he be back for next season? Will he make quarterback Robert Griffin III sit on the bench? For some insiders, it’s been something of a family soap opera, too. Shanahan’s son Kyle has been the team’s offensive coordinator.

Serious football wagering fans will remember that when the Redskins made Shanahan the team’s 24th head coach, like Bill Belichick, and a few other coaches, Shanahan was also named vice president of football operations, and would supposedly have the final word on all team issues. But when Shanahan announced that he would not play Robert Griffin III in the remaining games of the 2013 NFL season, there was speculation among the online wagering community that Shanahan might soon be fired. Shanahan and Griffin have certainly not been a tight duo lately, and interviews have hinted that there is trouble between the two men. However, it will ultimately be Shanahan’s relationship with billionaire owner Dan Snyder that will seal the coach’s fate.

Not long ago, Keyshawn Johnson, a former wide receiver and NFL broadcaster told a YouWager news source, “Fourteen years as the owner of the Washington Redskins; seven different head coaches. Fourteen seasons. That, tells me, I don’t care how smart and how much money he’s made; he made his money doing things other than owning a football team. So hire the right people to run your football program. Stop recycling the same guys over and over. You tried it all; the best in college football, guys that used to be hot in the NFL. Why don’t you try something new for a change and see if that works? See if hiring a new guy works.”

Shanahan says ‘stay tuned.’ When YouWager’s source asked Washington’s coach if the meeting between himself and Snyder will happen immediately after the team’s final game against the New York Giants, he said, “I’m sure it will.”

In this matchup, Shanahan’s Redskins are 3.5 underdogs at YouWager. The Total is 45.5. Game time on Sunday is 1PM Eastern.
