After an outstanding regular season on college football, we are really now down to 6 teams fighting it out for the 4 playoff spots. All of those teams but one, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, will be in action this weekend in their respective conference championship games. The only team that can realistically lose and still be in it are the Alabama Crimson Tide, so it promised to be a huge week.
The UCF Knights are still talking about being in the playoffs, but we all know that it isn’t going top happen, even if they win their conference and once again go unbeaten. They will try to do just that this coming Saturday in the AAC Conference Championship Game versus the Memphis Tigers. If these two can deliver a game half as good as the one they played earlier this season, then we should be in for a bit of a treat. There are a lot of neutrals pulling for the Knights heading into this one, but UCF are not going to have it easy. They are in as a modest 3-point favorite, with the point total set at 66.

Why bet on the Memphis Tigers?
The Memphis Tigers looked to have the previous meeting with UCF this season won, but they gave up a late score to end up on the losing end in a 31-30 game. The Tigers can look at that outcome and be disappointed, but they can also take the positive stance in that they were the only team to get close to ending the Knight’s spectacular unbeaten run.
The Tigers followed up that loss with another defeat at the hands of Missouri, but since then, they have been solid, going 4-0 SU and ATS, a run that helped them punch their ticket to this game. If we go back a little way further, we see that Memphis have in fact covered the spread in 6 of their last 7 games, and while they are just 1-1 ATS as the underdog, the game they covered was against UCF.
Why bet on the UCF Knights?
The Knights have themselves a bit of a problem this weekend in that they are heading into the biggest game of the season without the services of their starting QB. McKenzie Milton went down in the win over USF last week with one of the most brutal looking leg injuries we have seen in quite some time.
The Knights have been a team that have been incredibly tight in the locker room in recent years, so expect everyone in this team to raise their game in support of their fallen QB. The Knights have covered in 8 of their last 10 games and are on an unbeaten streak that now stands at 24 games and counting. This is a team that always seems to find a way to win, but this may be their toughest test yet.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
It’s never a great idea to count out this UCF Knights team, but without the services of their starting QB, I think they are in trouble. It should end up being close, just like the previous match-up between these two, but I think Memphis edges it.
Predicted Score: Memphis Tigers 30 | #7 UCF Knights 27
