Badgers vs Buckeyes: Who owns the Best Betting Odds to Win the Big 10 Championship?
There are basically two ways the college football rankings can go after this weekend; the first is that the results of the Championship games will make all the pieces fall into place, while the other scenario has total bedlam taking place. One game that could set the second scenario into motion is the Big 10 Championship Game between the Wisconsin Badgers and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
The SEC Championship Game could also set the cat among the pigeons, but we will talk about that one in another piece. If Wisconsin comes up with the win here, they will be unbeaten on the season and be a conference champion, which would almost certainly send them into the college football playoffs. If Ohio State wins, though, we then have a conversation about whether or not they should be in, although that would likely depend on the outcome of a couple of other games on Saturday.
What about the Betting Odds for this match?
This will be the final game of the night on Saturday, so these two may have some idea as to how things might play outcome kick-off time. Ohio State is a 6-point favorite, with the point total for this one set at 51.

Why bet on the Wisconsin Badgers
The Wisconsin Badgers are currently sitting at #4 in the college football rankings, and that is as low as they would be with a win on Saturday night. The reality, though, is that they are only in that spot because Miami lost to Pitt last weekend. The Badgers are still unbeaten but were left out of the top 4 until last weekend because of a perceived weaker schedule than the other top teams.

In fairness to the Badgers, all they can do is win, and they have been consistently doing so by playing some aggressive defensive football. This is a team that is giving up just 12 PPG, and while you can say that record has come against some lesser teams, that is still a tough number to post through an entire season. The problem that the Badgers face here is that they are just 2-8 SU in their last 10 meetings with the Buckeyes. They are also just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 versus Ohio State but are 8-4 ATS overall this year.
Why bet on the Ohio State Buckeyes
There were some concerns about the availability of QB J.T. Barrett this week after he was allegedly hit by a cart on the sidelines prior to last week’s game against the Michigan Wolverines. Barrett says that he is fine and ready to play, but you do have to wonder if he is going to have full mobility, which he is certainly going to need against a Badgers defense that likes to get after the QB. This game may well prove to be the unstoppable force versus the immovable object of Barrett is at full strength.
Series: Ohio State has won the last five meetings and leads overall, 58-18-5.
We have already discussed the Badgers D and how good they are, but they will be going against a Buckeyes team that has averaged over 43 PPG this season. They have managed that by finding a balance between the pass and run but could struggle a little if Barrett is forced to sit in the pocket. The Buckeyes are 10-2 SU this year but are just 5-7 ATS.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
This is probably the best team that the Badgers have faced all season, and I think they may be in trouble. I like Ohio State to win and cover in this one, and I also think the point total will creep OVER.
