Big 12 Championship TCU Horned Frogs Vs Oklahoma Sooners NCAA Football Odds
As far as the number of games goes, this weekend in college football is quieter than usual, but every single game on the schedule is of paramount importance to the teams taking part. It is the weekend when we get to decide the conference champions in NCAAF, and a number of games being played are going to have an impact on how the playoffs will look.
While some conference championship games will decide who is in and who is out, there are others that could potentially throw everything into total turmoil. The Big 12 Championship Game between the TCU Horned Frogs and the Oklahoma Sooners is one of those games.
If Oklahoma wins, they will be one of the top 4 teams in the nation when the playoff committee posts their final rankings on Tuesday night, but a TCU win could open the door for several teams sitting outside looking in at the playoffs, with Alabama and Ohio State among that group. Oklahoma comes into this game as a 7-point favorite in the NCAA Football Odds, with the point total for the Big 12 Championship Game set at 63 ½.

Why bet on the TCU Horned Frogs
The Horned Frogs spent a good deal of time up in the top 4 this season, but by the time the playoff committee started putting out their rankings, TCU had fallen away after a loss to Iowa State. Another loss a couple of weeks later, this time at the hands of Oklahoma, saw them taken out of the playoff picture altogether, and while there is no way back, they would love nothing more than to exact some revenge and keep their Big 12 rivals out of the playoffs in the process.
The Horned Frogs are a lot like their opponent in that they are a team built on a powerful offense. They are averaging over 34 PPG this season and may need to better than average number if they are to be crowned as conference champions on Saturday afternoon. The bad news here is that TCU is just 1-6 SU in their last 7 meetings with Oklahoma.
Why bet on the Oklahoma Sooners
It’s probably fair to suggest that all the pressure is on the Sooners for this game. They know that they cannot afford to lose if they are to make the playoffs, as doing so will mean that they have 2 losses under their belt. Losing 2 games and failing to win your conference championship game is not something that the playoff committee is likely to look at in a very favorable light.

It would certainly be the worst case scenario for a team that has been one of the most exciting to watch in college football, and who likely have the Heisman Trophy winner in QB Baker Mayfield. He has led the Sooners offense to an average of 45 PPG this season, and let’s also not forget that Oklahoma is coming into this one on an impressive 7-game winning streak. The Sooners have been great this year, but are still just 7-5 ATS.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
The best thing that can happen here for the Sooners is that they come out and score early. That should help remove some of the jitters, although it may also turn this one into a shootout, which would not be totally unexpected. I like the Sooners to win and cover, and the point total to go OVER.
