The early bowl games very often feature teams from lesser-known conferences, which can make handicapping the games a little more challenging for fans looking for valuable NCAAF odds. There are 5 games on tap on Saturday, the majority of which fit that bill, but the Las Vegas Bowl features a pair of teams that most college football fans will have some knowledge of. If you are a fan of offensive-minded football, then you may be in for a treat here, as both the Boise State Broncos and Oregon Ducks have developed a reputation as being teams that can quickly run up the score.

College Football Parlay Picks for 1st Bowl Round

This game is undoubtedly the best of the bunch on Saturday, and it’s one that could very well come down to which teams ends up getting control of the football last. We can definitely expect to see some points on the board here, which is why the point total has been set at 59 ½. It is the Boise State Broncos who have been made 7 point favorites, but can Oregon keep things closer? Let’s take a closer look at both of these teams.

Why bet on the Boise State Broncos

The Boise State Broncos had a memorable season, finishing the regular season 10-3 and capping things off with the Mountain West title with a win over Fresno. You can bet that this team will be relishing the opportunity to have another crack at a Power 5 team, after losing both previous attempts during the regular season. While they were pounded by the Virginia Cavaliers in one of those losses, it took a 3 OT marathon for Washington State to dispose of the Broncos.

Boise State scored an average of over 36 PPG this season, although they stumbled a little in their final two games, both against Fresno, where they managed just 17 PPG. They have won both of their previous meetings with Oregon, covering the spread both times. The Broncos went 8-5 ATS this season, but perhaps a little surprisingly had an O/U record of 5-8.

Why bet on the Oregon Ducks

It’s easy to forget that the Oregon Ducks are not that far removed from being in the National Championship Game, but it’s fair to say that their fall was a hard one. They had an awful season last year, failing to make a bowl game for the first time since 2004. While a 7-5 record is still well short of what this team has become accustomed to, it still needs to be considered a very respectable bounce back from an awful year in 2016.

Oregon Ducks 2017 NCAA Football

The Ducks got back to the business of scoring this season, averaging over 32 PPG, and doing so by delivering a very balanced attack. Their defense tightened up dramatically, surrendering 22 PPG, and they will need to be at their very best to slow down a high-powered Boise State offense. The Ducks went 6-6 ATS this season and were 5-7 O/U.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I don’t think it would be totally surprising to see this game turn into a shootout, which is why I am going with the OVER. While I like the Broncos to win, I do believe that the Ducks will cover.

Predicted Score: Boise State Broncos 32 Oregon Ducks 30
