In terms of the National Rankings, Week 7 of the college football season was one to remember, as it delivered a ton of upsets and a seismic shift in the standings.

There are now just a couple of weeks before the playoff committee get to work and start putting together the official rankings that will decide who gets into the playoffs, so it’s all to play for in the final few weeks of the regular season.

We have some big games ahead of us in Week 8, but are there any more surprises to come? We are looking at a couple of games here where an upset might well be on the cards. Join us to review the NCAAF Double Action.

#9 Oklahoma Sooners at TCU Horned Frogs

NCAAF Double Action: #9 Oklahoma at TCU

The Sooners are coming into this one off a bye week, which means that they will have had plenty of time to think about their stunning 48-45 loss to the Texas Longhorns in the Red River Showdown. Despite that loss, the Sooners are still very much alive in the Big 12, although they cannot afford another loss. They are in as an 8-point road favorite against the Horned Frogs, a team that they have beaten SU in 7 of their last 8 meetings.

The Horned Frogs are coming into this game on a losing skid, having picked up only 1 win in their last 4 games. This is a tam usually known for its high-octane offense, but they have been averaging around 16 PPG in their last 3 outings. They are going to need to score a whole lot more than that if they are to hang with a very talented Sooners offense. The Horned Frogs are just 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games, so perhaps not a great bet here.

The best way for Oklahoma to shake the memory of the loss to Texas is to come out and win in their next game up, which is exactly what they will do here.

Predicted Score: Oklahoma Sooners 40 TCU Horned Frogs 24

NCAAF Double Action: #9 Oklahoma at TCU Winner

#6 Michigan Wolverines at #24 Michigan State Spartans

NCAAF Double Action #6 Michigan at #24 Michigan State

After losing to Notre Dame in their season opener, the future looked pretty bleak for the Wolverines, but 6 straight wins has them back in playoff contention. They have a tough stretch of conference games ahead of them, but they passed the first test with a big win over Wisconsin last week. This has proven to be a tricky match-up in the Harbaugh era, with Michigan going just 1-4 SU in their last 5 meetings with the Spartans. They have also failed to cover in their last 5 trips here and are in as a 7-point favorite for this one.

Anyone who thinks that the Spartans are going to roll over and die here had better think again. They were a 13-point underdog against Penn State last week, but they managed to spring a stunning upset, winning that one 21-17 and hurting the Nittany Lions playoff hopes in the process. The Spartans are particularly tough to beat at home, winning 7 of their last 8 home games.

The Wolverines high-flying offense may have a tougher time this weekend, but I still think they do enough to get the win and cover.

Predicted Score: Michigan Wolverines 27 Michigan State Spartans 17
