NCAAF Week 6: Kansas at West Virginia & Maryland at Michigan
Another big week of college football action is right around the corner, with NCAAF Week 6 now just a matter of days away.
As always, we are going to try and cover as many games as possible, hopefully giving you the opportunity to cash more winning tickets in the process.
We had a couple of picks and predictions up for you today, so let’s get right to 2 more, with plenty still to come over the next couple of days.
We are going to look at the West Virginia Mountaineers as they continue to roll, as well as the suddenly hot Michigan Wolverines, so let’s get right to it.
Kansas Jayhawks at West Virginia Mountaineers
🏈: Kansas Jayhawks at #9 West Virginia Mountaineers
⏰: Sat. Oct 6, 2018 12:00 PM ET
🏟️: Mountaineer Field, Morgantown, WV
📺: ESPN2, DTV: 209
🎰: West Virginia Mountaineers -28½ -110 | U 61½ -110
The Jayhawks hit the road to face the Mountaineers with a 2-3 SU record on the season, but they are now on a 2-game losing skid that has seen them surrender 74 points while scoring just 35. This is not a team that travels well at all, winning just 1 of their last 25 games away from home. They are also just 6-16 ATS in their last 22 road games, although they have covered in 4 of their last 5 trips to West Virginia.
The Mountaineers are quietly starting to look like a team that might be ready to take a run at the top 4. Their offense has not been as dominant as we expected, but the reality here is that they haven’t had to be, as they are finally getting some solid work out of their defensive unit. The Mountaineers are in as a big 29-point favorite for this one, as they look to cover the spread for the 5th time in 5 attempts this season.
I don’t have any doubt that the Mountaineers will win this game, but there is some concern about the size of the point spread. I like West Virginia to win and cover once again, just as they have done all season.
Predicted Score: Kansas Jayhawks 10 West Virginia Mountaineers 45
Maryland Terrapins at Michigan Wolverines
🏈: Maryland Terrapins at #15 Michigan Wolverines
⏰: Sat. Oct 6, 2018 12:00 PM ET
🏟️: Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor, MI
🎰: Michigan Wolverines -17½ -110 | U 48½ -110
The Maryland Terrapins started the season with a bang, taking out the Texas Longhorns in one of the biggest surprises of Week 1. Since then, they have gone 2-1, with their lone loss of the season coming against Temple. The road has proven to be a problem for Maryland, as they have just 1 win in their last 5 away games and are also just 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road tilts. This is without a doubt their biggest challenge of the season.
There were a lot of Michigan fans claiming that the sky was falling after a Week 1 loss to Notre Dame, but that is no longer the case. Michigan and QB Shea Patterson, in particular, appear to have found their feet, winning 4 in a row and outscoring the opposition 170-50 in the process.
The Wolverines are always a tough nut to crack when playing at home, winning 15 of their last 17 games in their own building. They are in as a 17 ½ point favorite for this one.
The Wolverines escaped with a close win over Northwestern last week, but I think they will be better and stronger this week. Let’s go with Michigan to win and cover.
Predicted Score: Maryland Terrapins 13 Michigan Wolverines 33
