Huge Profit in Gigabyte Marines & Immortals at Worlds
The first week of the League of Legends World Championship eSports betting was full of entertaining upsets, clutch comebacks and crushing defeats. A lot of fans were surprised by Vietnam’s Gigabyte Marines who managed to take down Europe’s #3 seed in Fnatic.
Ever since the Marines stole our hearts at the Mid-Season Invitational we’ve been craving for some more of its unique compositions and clutch plays from Vietnamese legends such as Levi and NoWay. Today, we’re going to look at ways to profit from Week 2 of the Championship as the Gigabyte Marines and North America’s Immortals fight to make it out of the group stage.
Welcome to #Worlds2017, Levi:

Can the Gigabyte Marines do it Again?
Crazy Strategies for a Crazy Worlds
It’s no secret that the Marines are into crazy, out-of-the-box strategies. What does remain a mystery is whether these strategies will work twice on a team like Fnatic. Although Week 2 of the group stage remains a Best-Of-1 format, there are important factors to take into account since the schedule isn’t exactly like it was for week 1.
This Thursday, all of the group B tems will be facing each other to decide who will make it out of groups that same day. This is very important given that the amount of back-to-back games will increase quite highly and teams with what we assume is a limited about of tricks, may run out of creativity before they make it out.
Does the Schedule Hurt the Marines or Fnatic?
As it stands right now, the Marines are 3rd in the group with a score of 1-2 and Fnatic stands at the bottom of the table with a score of 0-3. Both teams will face the other two contenders in the group before facing each other. However, Fnatic faces Longzhu first and then moves on to face Immortals.
It’s hard to think anyone can beat Longzhu at this point, but if Fnatic losses to Immortals right after, we can assume their moral will be crushed right there and then, and hurt their already shaky performance in the last game of the stage against the Gigabyte Marines. It’s also important to mention that the odds of Fnatic beating Immortals are slim at best.
Will Immortals Make it out of Groups?
In Cody Sun we Trust
The match against Fnatic didn’t look that great at first but Immortals executed their composition perfectly towards the end, protecting Cody Sun’s Kog’Maw and allowing him to melt Fnatic’s team from the backline. At the end of the match, Cody Sun piloting a 4-4 Kog’Maw dealt more damage than Rekkles’ 6-1 Twitch. Both these teams rely heavily on their AD Carrys to come out on top but Immortals simply seems like a more experienced team able to play from behind and remain collected amongst adversity. We also want to say that Flame looked very good in the match against Fnatic and we think he can do it again.
A Bountiful Parlay
Because we’re backing the Marines to take it against Fnatic in their third game of the day, we’re also backing Immortals to put Fnatic’s Playoff dreams to rest before the European team faces Vietnam. This scenario gives us a nice, juicy parlay to profit from. However, if you’re not feeling the Immortals win over Fnatic due to their close match last week, you can always back Immortals against the Marines and pair it up with a Marines vs. Fnatic win to cash in big on this upset. Let’s take a look at the current eSports Odds on this one:
