With the 2018 MLB spring training season rolling right along, and teams everywhere starting to take their play a little more serious as we move closer to the start of the regular season, this look at some of the best value-offering matchups of the week could help you cash in early and often this mid-week. Let’s review our MLB winning picks for this week.

Boston Red Sox (9-8) Vs. Minnesota Twins (9-6)
What: Boston Red Sox (9-8) Vs. Minnesota Twins (9-6)
When: Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at 1:05 PM ET
Where: Hammond Stadium, Fort Myers, FL
The Line: TBA
Boston Red Sox: Chris Sale
Minnesota Twins: TBD
Analysis: Minnesota hasn’t yet announced who their starter will be, but does it even matter with left-hander Chris Sale going for the BoSox in this spring training matchup? Boston is 9-8 so far this spring and Minnesota is 8-6. However, right about now is the time when starting pitchers want to start working on their pitching sequences and start taking things a lot more seriously about two weeks before the start of the regular season. With that said, I just don’t see how Minnesota gets past the elite Sale and Boston in this one!
Predicted Score: Boston 6 Minnesota 3.
Baltimore Orioles (10-8) Vs. St. Louis Cardinals (7-8)
What: Baltimore Orioles (10-8) Vs. St. Louis Cardinals (7-8)
When: Thursday, March 15, 2018, at 1:05 PM ET
Where: Roger Dean Stadium, Jupiter, FL
The Line: TBA
Baltimore Orioles: Kevin Gausman – R
St. Louis Cardinals: Jack Flaherty
Analysis: Baltimore is 10-8 this spring while St. Louis has gone 7-8. Still, though, I’m going with the Cardinals to get the win in this contest behind young, but gifted right-hander Jack Flaherty. The 6-4 2014 first round draft pick has an absolutely huge upside while Baltimore’s Kevin Gausman gets by more on guile than overpowering stuff. Gausman’s 34-43 career mark says he’s nothing more than mediocre while Flaherty has a chance to be special!
Predicted Score: St Louis 6 Baltimore 4.
Kansas City Royals (8-9) Vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (10-8)
What: Kansas City Royals (8-9) Vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (10-8)
When: Thursday, March 15, 2018, at 4:05 PM ET
Where: Camelback Ranch – Glendale, Glendale, AZ
The Line: TBA
Kansas City Royals: TBD
Los Angeles Dodgers: Kenta Maeda – R
Analysis: The Kansas City Royals are 8-8 this spring while the Los Angeles Dodgers have gone 10-8 this warm-up season. While the Royals have yet to announce a starter for this contest, the Dodgers are going with right-hander Kent Maeda and for me, that means the Dodgers are the easy pick to get the spring win in this one. Maeda went 13-6 a year ago with a respectable 4.22 ERA one year after going 16-11 with a 3. 80 ERA. With Maeda looking to get in form before the start if the regular season, I expect a solid outing from the Dodgers starter en route to the spring win.
Predicted Score: Dodgers 5 Royals 3.
