Can DeRozan and Raptors Avoid Sweep in Game 4 Against LeBron and Suddenly Red-Hot Cavaliers?
DeMar DeRozan and the Toronto Raptors might have won a franchise-best 63 games to earn the top seed in the Eastern Conference this season, but apparently, they just can’t beat LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers! Now in a 3-0 hole against Cleveland and has been on the wrong end of five straight losses against the Cavs, the Raptors will look to avoid the sweep at the hands of their Eastern Conference tormentors. Let’s find out right now if they can. All basketball odds are available at Youwager.eu
What: Toronto Raptors (63-28) at Cleveland Cavaliers (57-35)
When: Monday, May 7, 2018, at 8:30 pm
Where: Quicken Loans Arena
NBA Odds: Cleveland Cavaliers -5 -110 | -220 | U 213½ -110
Kyle Lowry had a fantastic game for Toronto with 27 points and seven assists on nine of 13 shooting and OG Anunoby added 18 points in Game 3, but his all-star backcourt mate, DeMar DeRozan came up small with just eight points on 3 of 12 shooting from the field while getting benched in the most crucial moments down the stretch against the Cavs.
“It was extremely hard, extremely hard,” DeRozan said of being benched by coach Dwane Casey in the fourth. “I never want to be over there watching. It definitely sucks to watch it. It was just one of those nights for me, personally. I kept thinking, as long as we win, it cures everything.”
Cleveland got a game-high 38 points from LeBron James while Kevin Love added a nice double-double with 21 points and 16 rebounds in the win. James won the game with a running bank shot as time expired to lift Cleveland to victory as Toronto’s players stood around slack-jawed as if they couldn’t believe what just happened.
“Tie game, down one,” James said. “I live for those moments.”
James nailed his second game-winner of the postseason after hitting a clutch three-pointer to beat Indiana in Game 5 of their first-round series.
“I’ve been doing that since I was like six, seven, eight years old,” James said. “Maybe even before that. There’s a picture floating around of me beside a Little Tikes hoop with a saggy Pamper on and I was doing it back then and all the way up until now, at 33.
The shot was James’ fifth career postseason game-winner.
“Things that you dream about, that you get those opportunities and I’ve been fortunate enough to get a handful of those in some of the biggest moments in my career.”
I have no idea why the spread for this game isn’t a little bit higher, but for me, that just makes the Cavaliers more attractive.
Toronto is an awful 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games, 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven Conference Semifinals games and a nearly winless 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings against Cleveland. The Raptors have to be demoralized right about now and they only way they beat Cleveland is if LeBron James doesn’t show up – and I’m not sure they’d win even then. Don’t think long and hard about this one NBA bettors. I’m just going to say, stick a fork in the Raptors and turn them over because they’re completely done!
Pick: Cleveland -5
