NBA Duo for Weekend: Toronto Raptors at Milwaukee Bucks & Indiana Pacers at Toronto Raptors
When we preview games in the NBA, we usually try to focus on as many different teams as possible. We are making a bit of an exception this weekend, as we are going to look at a pair of games, both of which you can catch on NBATV, for the Toronto Raptors. They will start out on the road on Saturday night with a big game against the Milwaukee Bucks, after which they will be back home on Sunday to take on the Indiana Pacers. Let’s take a closer look at both of those games.
Toronto Raptors at Milwaukee Bucks
It really couldn’t be any tighter at the top of the Eastern Conference, with the Toronto Raptors sitting second behind the Milwaukee Bucks on win percentage. After a fast start to the season, Toronto have fallen off the pace and have been playing .500 ball over the past 10 games. They are 13-8 on the road this season, but many of those recent losses have been away from home. This will be the 3rd meeting between these two teams this season, with the Raptors yet to pick up a win. Going back to last season, they have now lost 3 in a row to the Bucks.
Milwaukee have avoided the type of slump that the Raptors are on right now during the first half of the season, putting together a stellar 26-10 record. The Bucks have been good wherever they play, but they have been pretty close to unbeatable on home court, going 17-3 through their first 20 games in their own building. They are winners of 4 in a row and 8 of their last 10 games, so safe to say that they are the in-form team in this match-up.
The Milwaukee Bucks are a team that Toronto have just not been able to figure out and I think that trend continues on Saturday night.
Predicted Score: Toronto Raptors 107 | Milwaukee Bucks 114
Indiana Pacers at Toronto Raptors
To say that this is a tough weekend for the Raptors is putting things rather mildly, as they follow up their big Saturday gamer against the conference leaders with a home tilt against the #3 team in the conference. The Indiana Pacers are heading into the weekend on a hot streak, winning 5 in a row and 8 of their last 10. They are 11-7 on the road this season, but they have struggled against Toronto in recent meetings, losing 4 in a row, which includes a 99-96 loss earlier this season in Toronto.
We spent a lot of time talking about what Toronto has done on the road when we broke down their game against the Bucks, so let’s shift our focus to what they have managed in their own building this season. Toronto are a very healthy 15-4 on home court to this point in the season, and while they have been playing .500 ball overall of late, they have won 8 of their last 10 games in their own building.
Toronto are still incredibly tough to take out at home and have beaten the Pacers each of the last 10 times that they have come to town. This should be another home win for the Toronto Raptors.
Predicted Score: Indiana Pacers 93 | Toronto Raptors 97
