NBA Playoff Games for the Weekend, April 27 Edition
The NBA playoff calendar for the weekend is not really set in stone just yet, as we could see no less than three different series come to an end on Friday night. This makes previewing the weekend games a little tougher, so all we can really do is look at the games that will definitely be a go, which includes the opening game of the second round in the Western Conference. Most of the action is set for Friday night, though, with a trio of do or die games. Will we see some Game 7’s hit the calendar for the weekend or will it be a relatively quiet few days on the NBA front? Let’s take a closer look.

Toronto Raptors Vs Washington Wizards – Friday
This is the first of the three Game 6 match-ups that we have set to go on Friday night, and it’s a series that has followed a very predictable pattern. All of the games in this series have gone the way of the home team, which means that Toronto is heading into Washington with a 3-2 lead and the opportunity to close the series out. The Raptors were very good on the road throughout the regular season, so it is perhaps a little surprising that they have been unable to steal one against a Wizards team that finished the season on a bit of a skid. I think that all ends here, as I like the Raptors to win
Predicted Score: Toronto Raptors 109 Washington Wizards 103
Cleveland Cavaliers Vs Indiana Pacers – Friday
The Cavaliers get to go on the road for Game 6 with a chance to put away the Indiana Pacers, but if this series has shown us anything, it is that nothing comes easy for either of these teams. The last 4 games have been decided by an average of just 3 PPG, which tells you just how evenly matched these two are. The Pacers are at home for this one, but are going to need to find a way to recover after losing Game 5 via a buzzer beater from LeBron James, who finished that game with 44 points. This should be another close one, and I like the Pacers to force a Game 7.
Predicted Score: Cleveland Cavaliers 101 Indiana Pacers 102
Oklahoma City Thunder Vs Utah Jazz – Friday
Digging out of a hole in the playoffs is always tough, but the Oklahoma City Thunder began the process quite nicely when they came from quite a ways behind to win Game 5 and get their opening round series with the Utah Jazz back to 3-2. It can be argued that the toughest part of the comeback will be on Friday night, as they need to head into Utah and come away with nothing less than a win. Russell Westbrook was at his brilliant best in Game 5, bagging 45 points, and he will need to deliver more of the same to keep OKC alive. I think they come up just short.
Predicted Score: Oklahoma City Thunder 103 Utah Jazz 105
New Orleans Pelicans Vs Golden State Warriors – Saturday
The defending champion Golden State Warriors will begin second round action on Saturday night with a home tilt against the New Orleans Pelicans. We have yet to hear whether Stephen Curry will return for this one, but the Warriors looked just fine without him, taking out the San Antonio Spurs in 5 games. The Pelicans went one better, sweeping the Portland Trail Blazers in their opening round series. The Pelicans look like a very dangerous team, especially when Anthony Davis is on his game, but I think they will come up a little short in Game 1
Predicted Score: New Orleans Pelicans 109 Golden State Warriors 112
