San Antonio Spurs (37-28) Vs. Oklahoma City Thunder (38-29): Game Information
While teams in the Eastern Conference are suddenly clinching playoff berths, the race in the West continues unabated. There are two different races going on there right now. You have the Rockets and Warriors going toe to toe for the top spot, light years ahead of the rest, while the chasing pack is all jockeying for position. There are just 4 games separating the #4 seed from the #9 right now, which means that getting into a losing streak at this stage of the proceedings might well mean losing a couple of spots overnight. The San Antonio Spurs are on something of a skid at the moment and need to find a way to snap out of it. Being on the road is certainly not the best scenario for a team that saves its best basketball for their home dates. Saturday night will see the Spurs head into Oklahoma City for a primetime game against the Thunder, a team looking to pull itself higher than their current #7 spot. This should be an entertaining one to watch and wager on.

Why bet on the San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs are on a run that has seen them win only 3 games in their last 10, but they can perhaps take some positives from their last defeat, a 110-107 loss to the Warriors where they gave the defending champions all they could handle. Were it not for some late heroics from Kevin Durant, the Spurs might actually have walked out of Oakland with the win in tow. As it is, the Spurs now head to Oklahoma City with a rather depressing 14-20 record on the road. There is little between these two teams, though, with San Antonio holding a slight 6-4 edge in their last 10 meetings with the Thunder. That said, the Spurs have only won once in their last 5 trips to OKC, including a 90-87 loss there earlier this season.
Why bet on the Oklahoma City Thunder
A win here would see the Thunder climb over the Spurs in the Western Conference standings, potentially going as high as 5th when all is said and done. Oklahoma City is coming into this one after beating the Phoenix Suns, which took them to 6-4 in their last 10 games. We have already mentioned how good OKC have been at home against the Spurs in recent seasons, but that is also a trend that carries over into all their match-ups, as they are a very respectable 22-11 in their own building this season. Conference games have not really been their strong point, though, as they are just 3 games above .500 versus other teams in the Western Conference. They are also just 19-18 versus teams with a winning record this season, so this will by no means be a slam dunk for them, even with home court advantage.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
The meetings between these two teams tend to be very close, with most going right down to the wire. I see no reason why this one will be any different, so I am taking the Thunder to win at home in a tight affair.
Predicted Score: San Antonio Spurs 102 Oklahoma City Thunder 103.
