It’s a short week in the NBA, at least for the players not taking part in the All-Star Game, with all the games this week taking place between Monday and Thursday. It’s the final opportunity for teams to make a move before a well-earned rest, and every team in the league will want to end the first half of the season on a high note. While the schedule may be smaller than usual, there are still some very big games on tap over the next few days that require your wagering attention. Let’s take a closer look at those games, with picks and predictions made for each one for this NBA Week.

New Orleans Pelicans Vs Detroit Pistons

What we have here is a pair of teams fighting for their playoff lives in their respective conferences. The Pelicans are sitting a half game above the playoff line in the Western Conference but are just 5-5 in their last 10. That said, this is a team that is a game above .500 on the road, so perhaps a good bet here. The Pistons are sitting just below the playoff line in the Eastern Conference and need to make up 2 games to get back above it. The Pistons have been a solid bet at home this season, going 18-11 SU in the first half. I like the Pistons in a close one.

New Orleans Pelicans Vs Detroit Pistons NBA Week

Houston Rockets Vs Minnesota Timberwolves

There are few teams hotter in the NBA than the Houston Rockets, as they start this week on an 8-game win streak that has seen them close the gap at the top in the West to just a half game. They would love to land on top before the break but have a tough one on Tuesday night with a trip to Minnesota to face the #4 seeded Timberwolves. Minnesota is an impressive 23-6 at home, while the Rockets are 20-7 on the road. Should be an entertaining game that I like the Rockets to win.

Cleveland Cavaliers Vs Oklahoma City Thunder

The Cavaliers were extremely active at the trade deadline, and it’s fair to say that the moves they made paid instant dividends, as the new-look Cavs went out and destroyed Boston in their first game together. Cleveland has now won 3 in a row but needs to keep this run going to end the first half on a high note. The Thunder are in the #5 spot in the West, 2 games back of the T-Wolves in the division battle. They have been up and down of late, going just 5-5 in their last 10, although they are a solid 20-9 SU at home this season. Another close one here, with OKC I believe just edging it.

Toronto Raptors Vs Chicago Bulls

It took some time and a lot of hard work, but the Toronto Raptors have finally made it all the way to the top of the Eastern Conference, where they hold a slender half-game lead over the Boston Celtics. They will end the first half of the season with a road trip to Chicago to face a Bulls team that has fallen on hard times this season, and who now sit 10 games below the playoff line. The Raptors have been much better at home than they have been on the road, but they should still be able to come up with the win in this one.
