NFL Week 6 Double Action: Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals and Seattle Seahawks at Oakland Raiders
Can Andy Dalton and the Cincinnati Bengals keep up their impressive play to beat Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers when they square off in their NFL Week 6 NFC North divisional showdown? Can Jon Gruden’s Oakland Raiders get the upset win in London over a Seattle Seahawks team that could easily be 4-1 right now instead of the current 2-3 they are?

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals
Pittsburgh jumped all over banged-up Atlanta en route to a convincing 41-17 rout over the injury-riddled Falcons. Cincinnati shut down Miami after falling into a 17-0 hole to win by scoring 27 unanswered points to finish off the Fins. While the Steelers came up big in their week 5 blowout of Atlanta, I don’t think that’s going to be the case when they visit Cincinnati on Sunday. I’m expecting this matchup to be a classic NFC North brawl that is almost certainly going to come down to the wire. I like Cincinnati’s fortitude and their play defense this season and I’m expecting the Bengals to scratch out a hard-fought win over the Steelers team that I’m still not sure about despite their emphatic win this past weekend.
While Pittsburgh has won six straight meetings and nine of the last 10 meetings overall, I’m going to urge you to back Andy Dalton and the Bengals in this matchup simply because they’ve been the better and more consistent team since the start of the season. The Steelers have been dominated at home twice by Kansas City and Baltimore and they’ve yet to put their Le’Veon Bell drama to rest.
In addition to that, the Steelers are a winless 0-8 ATS in their last 8 games following a straight up win and a winless 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games against their AFC North counterparts. The Bengals are an unblemished 8-0 ATS in their last 8 vs. AFC, 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games against their AFC North division rivals a near-perfect 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games. I’m going with Dalton and the Bengals to win and cover in a classic field goal finish!
Predicted Score: Bengals 27 Steelers 24
Seattle Seahawks at Oakland Raiders
Seattle came up with a great effort to nearly upset the unbeaten Rams on Sunday before eventually succumbing in a 33-31 heartbreaker, although they easily covered the chalk as a 7.5-point home underdog. Oakland came up small in posting its lowest point total of the season in a discouraging 26-10 loss against the L.A. Chargers while never challenging their longtime AFC West division rivals. The Raiders have been held to 20 points or less three times this season (21.4 ppg) while Seattle has scored 24 or more three times while topping the 30-point plateau last weekend.
With this matchup going down on a neutral field, the smart pick is to simply take the better team and that is clearly the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle has improved its rushing attack in a big way the last couple of weeks and they’ve still got an MVP caliber superstar leading them in quarterback Russell Wilson. While the Seahawks have lost a pair of games by a field goal or less, Oakland has struggled offensively under Jon Gruden all season and the Raiders defense is nowhere near what could be considered elite.
Seattle has gone 4-1 ATS in their last five games in October and 11-4-2 ATS in their last 17 games following an SU loss. Oakland is 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games in the month of October. I like Russell Wilson and the Seattle the Seahawks for the emphatic win here!
