By this stage of the NFL betting season, we usually have a solid idea of which teams are going to be playoff bound and which ones will soon be looking forward to next season. The 2017 NFL season has been a little different, as we only have a single unbeaten team on the board, while many of the preseason favorites have failed to launch thus far.

The unpredictability of the current season has made wagering on the NFL a little bit precarious, but that doesn’t mean that we are going to stop trying to boost our bankrolls. It’s time to look ahead to Week 6 of the season to see if we can come up with some SU and ATS winners.

Grind the NFL Odds with these Four Picks

Philadelphia Eagles over the Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers have made a solid 4-1 start to the season, yet they still have a lot of detractors in the media. There have been a lot of questions about the play of Cam Newton at QB, and while he has certainly not been at his best, he has still been getting his team to the finish line with the W, more often than not. There are no such issues in Philadelphia, where the Eagles are flying high with QB Carson Wentz at the helm. I like the Eagles to go on the road and get the SU win, which would also mean that they would cover as a 3 ½ point underdog.

Philadelphia Eagles: -125
Carolina Panthers: +105

Atlanta Falcons over the Miami Dolphins

The Falcons should be rested and ready to go after their bye week, and they will be looking to get back on track after a rather disjointed start to the season. While the Falcons offense has not been as dominant as it was last season, this is a unit that is loaded with talent and which should be more than good enough to beat Miami. The Dolphins pulled out a good win over the Tennessee Titans last weekend, but we should remember that the Titans had a back-up QB starting that one. This is a game where Atlanta should be able to win and cover.

Atlanta Falcons: -110
Miami Dolphins: -110

Atlanta Falcons

Houston Texans over the Cleveland Browns

This game will feature a pair of rookie QB’s who are having very different results in the early part of the season. DeShone Kizer of the Browns has had difficulty adapting to life in the NFL, which is no real surprise when you consider the talent that Cleveland has surrounded him with. The Browns are a young team that is going to need some time to grow and gel. DeShaun Watson of the Texans took a minute to get going, but it now looks as though he has found his feet. The Texans have been very good offensively over the past few weeks, and I like them to win this one comfortably.

Houston Texans: -110
Cleveland Browns: -110

Denver Broncos over the New York Giants

Given how tough it is for opposing team to get a win at Mile High Stadium, the Denver Broncos look like a solid SU pick against the winless Giants. The big question now is whether they are going to be able to cover what is a rather large point spread. What we need to consider here is what the Giants are going to be able to deliver when they have the football, with the likely answer being very little. The Giants have been struggling offensively through the first five weeks of the season and now need to contend with life without Odell Beckham Jr., who is out for the rest of the season after suffering a brutal ankle injury over the weekend. The Broncos win this one and cover the spread.

Denver Broncos: -105
New York Giants: -115
