Thanksgiving Day is the perfect time for a family get-together and a delicious turkey dinner, with the bonus being that we get a trio of NFL Thanksgiving picks to enjoy throughout the day. The Detroit Lions make their annual holiday appearance, and they have a tough one on Thursday with the high-flying Minnesota Vikings heading to town.

The Dallas Cowboys are another Thanksgiving mainstay, and they will be looking to right the ship at home to the LA Chargers. The prime-time game features an NFC East tilt between the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins. Let’s take a close look at all 3 games.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions

Date/Time: November 23, 2017, 12:30 PM ET
Location: Ford Field
Odds: Vikings -3

The Vikings are trying to clinch the NFC North and can help their cause with a win over the Lions. They are 2-up on Detroit right now, and would likely be impossible to catch with a win in the 12:30 game. The Vikings have won 6-straight, but have not had a lot of success in Detroit, going just 2-5 SU in their last 7 visits. One of their two losses this season came early in the season when they went down 14-7 to the Lions.

Detroit has essentially been in playoff mode since dropping a game below .500 earlier this season. Each week since has been a must-win situation, and they have responded by reeling off 3-straight wins, including a huge come from behind win against the Bears last week. The Lions have won 8 of their last 12 at home, but are just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games. The Vikings are 3-point favorites for this one, with the point total set at 44 ½. I like the Vikings to win and cover, and the total to be just UNDER.

LA Chargers vs. Dallas Cowboys

Date/Time: November 23, 2017, 4:30 PM ET
Location: AT&T Stadium
Odds: Chargers -1

The LA Chargers are coming off a huge win over the Buffalo Bills last weekend, and may well be able to take advantage of a struggling Dallas Cowboys team in the 4:30 game this Thursday. The Chargers have been involved in a lot of close games this season, but their inability to get the job done has them at 4-6. LA are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games.

Even if Ezekiel Elliott was not serving a suspension, you still wonder if the Cowboys would be able to win. This looks like a shadow of the team that was so dominant last year. They are 5-5 on the year and now look like a huge longshot to make the playoffs. The Cowboys have won 9 of their last 13 homes games, although only 2 of their last 6. This one is down as a pick play, with the point total set at 48. I think the Cowboys get back to winning ways in a close one, with the point total going UNDER.

New York Giants vs. Washington Redskins

Date/Time: November 23, 2017, 8:30 PM ET
Location: FedEx Field
Odds: Redskins -7.5

The Philadelphia Eagles are running away from the NFC East, with the remaining 3 teams fighting for the scraps. It has been a miserable year for the Giants, who have just 2 wins on the season, but they are sure to be on a bit of a high after stunning the Kansas City Chiefs last weekend. The Giants have won just one of their last 6 road games, but are 6-2 SU in their last 8 against the Redskins. The Redskins are seeing their season slip away, as they have now lost 4 of their last 5 games.

The latest of those losses was a total collapse against the New Orleans Saints in Week 11. Covering at home has been a challenge for this team, as Washington is just 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games. The Redskins are a 7 ½ point favorite for this one, with the point total set at 44 ½. I like the Redskins to win and cover quite comfortably here.
