NHL Games to Watch on Tuesday, January 15, 2019
The Minnesota Wild and San Jose Sharks will look to take care of business at home in a pair of NHL Tuesday Night matchups that both look like they’re offering some excellent value in the YouWager NHL sportsbook.
If you’re looking for some expert NHL betting predictions, then you’ve come to the right place. Now, let’s get started.
The Kings put up a great effort to beat red-hot Pittsburgh 5-2 on Saturday as Anze Kopitar scored a pair of goals to lead the way to victory. Unfortunately, Los Angeles averages just 2.3 goals per game to rank a dismal 31st in scoring while allowing 3.0 goals per game defensively (17th). The Kings have gone 7-12-2 on the road this season but 11-10 against the Puck Line in 21 road dates.
The Wild have dropped two of three and comes into this contest off a humbling 5-2 loss to Detroit on Saturday. Minnesota gave up a hat trick to Detroit’s Tyler Bertuzzi and a pair of goals to Thomas Vanek. Devan Dubnyk allowed all five goals on 37 shots to get saddled with the loss. The Wild average and allow an identical 2.8 goals per game to rank 21st in scoring and an encouraging eighth in goals allowed. Minnesota has gone 11-8-2 at home this season but just 7-15 against the Puck Line on their home ice.
Minnesota is the super easy pick in this one YouWager NHL hockey bettors. Los Angeles has gone 3-8 in their last 11 road games and 3-9 in their last dozen Tuesday games. Conversely, Minnesota has gone 41-15 in their last 56 games against a tam with a winning percentage under .400. The Kings are 1-5 in their last six road dates against Minnesota and the home team in this rivalry has gone 7-2 in the last nine meetings.
Predicted Score: Los Angeles Kings 2 | Minnesota Wild 4
The Penguins have gone 8-2 over their last 10 games but they come into this contest off a humbling 5-2 loss to Los Angeles on Saturday. Jake Guentzel scored in the first and third periods to give the Pens all their scoring. Casey Smith allowed four goals on 24 shots to get saddled with the loss. Pittsburgh has gone 12-6-2 on the road this season and 11-11 against the Puck Line on the road. The Penguins average a healthy 3.6 goals per game to rank fourth in scoring while allowing 2.9 goals per game defensively (14th).
The Sharks have gone 8-2 over their last 10 games but they’ll ride the wave of a six-game winning streak into this contest that includes an emphatic 4-1 win over Ottawa on Saturday. Joe Pavelski, Justin Braun, Joe Thornton, and Melker Karlsson all scored for the Sharks in the win while Martin Jones stopped 27 of 28 shots to get the win. San Jose has gone a stellar 16-4-2 at home this season and 12-12 against the Puck Line on their home ice.
Pittsburgh has been playing some excellent football for the better part of the last eight weeks, but San Jose is playing their best hockey of the season right now and they’re playing at home against an elite opponents.
Having said that, I like the Sharks to dial up a great effort to turn back Sidney Crosby and company in this one. With the home team in this rivalry going 18-8 in the last 26 meetings and the Penguins going an uninspiring 4-13-1 in the last 18 meetings in San Jose, I say back the Sharks to get it done in a thriller!
Predicted Score: Pittsburgh Penguins 3 | San Jose Sharks 4
