The English Premier League kicks off again this weekend, with the first evening game of Manchester City vs. Liverpool F.C. With nine games in total playing up until September 12, there will be plenty of football to watch, along with opportunities for betting. We’ve taken a look at each of the fixtures for this weekend and Tuesday, with predictions for the outright winner of each game.

Saturday, September 9

Manchester City vs. Liverpool F.C.

Philippe Coutinho has been seen back at training for Liverpool, and that could spell bad news for any team that they play against. Of course, Manchester City is not just ‘any’ team, and their top tier side could be enough to contain Liverpool, despite Manchester seemingly having trouble with the formations that they are running this year.Expect this to be a close game, and while a number of bookmakers are calling this game for Manchester, a 1 – 1 game is the most realistic outcome. Prediction: Draw

Southampton vs. Watford

Southampton will be playing at Watford, but we don’t think the home advantage will be too much for Mauricio Pellegrino’s squad to overcome. Both teams are even on points in the league, which indicates a similar level of performance. Watford does have injuries to think about, as well as a suspension with Miguel Britos. Craig Cathcard is out with an injury. Southampton has what is essentially their 1st pick team available, and full fitness of their squad means a win for them is most likely.Prediction: Southampton for the win.

Everton vs. Spurs

Scandal has rocked Everton this week, which could destabilize the team. Wayne Rooney was arrested and charged this week for drink-driving, and disciplinary action from Everton is looming. This will be Everton’s toughest game of the year so far, and the Spurs have a defense that easily matches them. This will be a close game, but we can see the Spurs taking advantage of the home game to come out with the win.Prediction: Spurs for the win.

Arsenal vs. Bournemouth

Arsenal have had a tough run lately, and it’s now time for them to prove that they can make a quick recovery and focus on their campaign. Their 4 – 0 defeat to Liverpool will be fresh in their minds, and Bournemouth offers a good opportunity for the team to get some confidence back. Bournemouth have lost three games this year, and they’re yet to score a point in the Premier League. Arsenal showed problems in their defense in their last outing with Liverpool, but Bournemouth doesn’t pose as much of a threat. Expect Arsenal to concede a goal, but the final whistle score should be at least 2 – 1 in their favor.Prediction: Arsenal for the win.

Brighton vs. West Brom

Brighton are finding the Premier League to be a tough challenge since their promotion, and they haven’t scored a goal in three games this year. West Brom have some new players after the transfer cutoff and we could see Grzegorz Krychowiak on the field while he’s being loaned from Paris Saint-Germain. Brighton looks in much worse shape with Glen Murray and Sam Baldock out with injuries. Tomer Hemed is also out of contention with a thigh strain, although a late fitness test could see him playing on Saturday. Even if he does, West Brom have shown early this year that they have what it takes to win.Prediction: West Brom for the win.

Sunday, September 10

Stoke vs. Manchester United

Manchester United have had an amazing start to the season, and have beaten three teams in the run up to Week 4. They’ve not conceded a single goal during the season, showing that they have one of the most effective defenses in the league. Stoke have a win, a draw, and a loss to Everton behind them. Both the odds and simple logic are in favor of Man United, who have shown a defense and attack that outclasses anything that Stoke have shown this year.Prediction: Manchester United for the win.

Burnley vs. Crystal Palace

Burnley beat Crystal Palace convincingly in both of their games last season, and it looks like they’re going to be able to continue their form into this weekend’s game. Burnley are one of the strongest teams in the league when they play at home. Inside the top seven they had more home wins than any other team last season, and everything looks to be in their favor for this weekend. Crystal Palace could be missing Mamadou Sakho due to injury, and Dean Marney and James Tomkins won’t be playing either. Prediction: Burnley for the win.

Swansea vs. Newcastle

Newcastle have a dismal away record, and this game is not going to be an easy one. Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez has had a hard time recruiting talent before the season started, and the team have only managed to win one game this year, when they went into a lopsided match with West Ham United. Swansea have won their last two games, and have won all but one of their last eight games played in the premier league. Their team is in good fitness and in their football is the best that we’ve seen them play in years. Prediction: Swansea for the win.

English Premier League: Tuesday, September 12

West Ham vs. Huddersfield

Since West Ham were promoted to the Premier League in 2011, they’ve finished above 13th position in the table at the end of every season. Last year they finished 11th. Huddersfield were only promoted to the Premier League in May, and in August they won a game against Newcastle, and drew against Southampton. West Ham can win this match, and they will be hungry to score their first Premier League points of the season, however, they’re not a full strength because of injuries, and Huddersfield are on a high after what has been a dream start to their EPL promotion. Prediction: Huddersfield for the win.
