Next week will see some of the best players in tennis head on over to Cincinnati, Ohio for the Western & Southern Masters. This is an event for both the men and women, so there is going to be a lot of action to wager on through to the end of the tournament on August 19. On the men’s side of the tournament, Rafael Nadal is in as the top seed, but it is Roger Federer who may be the man to watch here, as he has won this event 6 times over the years. Defending champion Grigor Dimitrov will also be back to defend his title. Simona Halep, who lost in the final last year to Garbine Muguruza, will be in as the #1 seed for the women. Let’s take a closer look at both tournaments to see who might land on top.

Western & Southern Open Cincinnati Masters Betting AnalysisAs mentioned earlier, it is Rafael Nadal who is in as the top seed here, even though he has only won once before in Cincinnati, with that one coming back in 2013. Federer is the 32 seed here, and while he has been a 6-time winner at this event, it has been 3 years since his last victory. This might lead you to believe that the men’s tournament is quite wide open, with Grigor Dimitrov, the winner last year, someone who is sure to get a lot of attention.

Looking down the seedings, one player that jumps out for me is Alexander Zverev, who is in as the #3 seed. He is playing some fabulous tennis right now and looks set to make a deep run. A couple of other seeds that you may want to consider taking a look at our #7 Marin Cilic and #9 John Isner. It was Cilic who won this tournament back in 2016, while Isner was a beaten finalist in 2013. The American, in particular, is a bit of a hard court specialist, so look for him to make a run here.

If I had to make a pick on the men’s side to win it all, my money would be on Zverev.

Western & Southern Open Cincinnati Masters Betting Analysis 3The women’s tournament is going to be a little tougher to handicap when you consider that only one player, Serena Williams, has won it more than once since 2004. Top seed Simona Halep is probably well deserving of that seeding, as she has been the beaten finalist in two of the last three years. The question now is whether she can get over that hump and deliver the goods this year.

Garbine Muguruza, last year’s winner, is in at the #7 seed and available at a good price, but I am going to be looking elsewhere for the winner on the women’s side. Other players that you want to keep an eye on including Carolina Wozniacki (#2) and Sloane Stephens (#3). I am going a little further down the seeding to find the winner of this event, as I believe it will be Angelique Kerber who wins in Cincinnati. She has yet to win here but has been to the final twice over the years.
